DLS Mild is a natural surfactant that is derived from vegetable oils. It is an excellent choice for sensitive skin, baby products, facial products or other natural skin care or hair care products. DLS Mild is anionic, non-irritating and will not strip skin or hair of natural oils. DLS Mild will leave skin feeling soft and conditioned after rinse off.    

Polysorbates are emulsifiers, wetting agents, and solubilizers that we use to bring small amounts of fragrance, essential, or carrier oils into a watery environment. We can use them to emulsify an all oil ingredient in our bath, or to make a water based product with a tiny bit of oils in them. Usage ratio guide - up to 5% use 1:1 solubiliser : oil Which polysorbate to use? Use polysorbate 20 to emulsify small amounts of lighter (fragrance or essential) oils and polysorbate 80 to emulsify slighter larger amounts of heavier (carrier) oils.

T-50, natural mixed tocopherols (isolated from vegetable oils), is a natural, heat stable antioxidant that protects food and cosmetic products from oxidation. If you need to add vitamin E oil to protect your formulation from rancidity, use our T-50 Vitamin E oil instead of 250IU/g, 1000IU/g and 1400IU/g Vitamin E oils. While the alpha tocopherol in the 250, 1000, and 1400IU/g oils is wonderful as an in-vitro antioxidant, studies show that the gamma tocopherol in the Vitamin E T-50 oil is a better antioxidant for oils/lipids in cosmetic formulations. T-50 has a higher content of gamma tocopherols and can be used at a rate of .04% or 400ppm to adequately protect your oils. Although T-50 is not an organic product, it is allowed for use in "organic" or "made with organic material" products. Suggested Usage Rate: 0.04%-1.0% in oils, creams, lotions, balms, soaps and other oil based formulations.

Our hydrosols are distilled locally on an orchard in Katikati, Bay of Plenty. Using spray free grown plants to produce the highest quality, pure and natural, preservative free hydrosols. The essential oil has not been completely filtered off, leaving you with a highly fragrant premium hydrosol.

The addition of Cera Bellina wax helps give any lip balm, lotion bar, or emulsion a smooth and luxurious texture.  

Our Bodywash Base contains Organic Ingredients of which are certified organic by the COSMOS. It contains a natural liquid soap base derived from organic oils, blended with gentle surfactants. Requires the simple addition of essential oils or fragrance and can readily be thickened with salt.

A clear, odourless liquid. Propylene glycol is a humectant, and can be used between 1-8% in water based recipes such as lotion to draw moisture to the skin, similar to glycerin. It can also be used as a carrier for fragrance or essential oils. Another common use is in vaping products This Propylene Glycol is Pharmaceutical grade meeting the specifications of the British and European Pharmacopoeia (BP/USP).

Sodium cocoyl isethionate is a coconut oil-based surfactant. It is very mild on skin, hair and eyes and has a silky skin feel. SCI makes a great lather and is good for making liquid shampoos and shampoo bars.   Our SCI is solid noodles- which is a low-dusting granular form.

Cocomidopropyl Betaine is a mild, biodegradable and viscosity-building and foam boosting surfactant. It has outstanding foam, foam stabilization and viscosity building properties.   It is derived from renewable, natural resources.   It has many varied uses such as bubble baths, shampoos, liquid hand soaps, cleansing creams and lotions, shower gels, pet shampoos, and more! Provides excellent wetting, and gives good lather and foam.

Isopropyl Alcohol, 99% (also known as rubbing alcohol).  A must have for most soap makers.  Isopropyl alcohol has many uses in soap making. Spray it on top of cold process soap to prevent soda ash or on melt and pour to get rid of bubbles and help layers stick together.  It can be used to disperse mica colorants or as a general sanitizer.

Stephenson's Foaming Bath Butter is a unique and innovative product. Create whipped foaming bath butters, a sugar scrub, a body soufflè, or a salt scrub, all from one product base. It's also great for making the frosting tops for bath bombs.

Our body butter is a ready to use base. It can be used “as is” or you can add colour and fragrance to make it uniquely yours. High in sunflower oil which contains loads of vitamin e, this base is very nourishing while not being too greasy.

Allantoin is a great additive for your skin care products. It helps to soften skin and it is also FDA approved to help prevent chafing, chapped, cracked or dry skin.

Prevents the vanilla in fragrance oils from turning lotions and liquid wash formulations brown. It will not prevent colour changes due to ingredients other than vanilla.   Use this stabiliser in

Germaben® II is a broad spectrum, liquid preservative system.  It is ready-to-use in emulsions with an oil phase of about 25% or less and water soluble formulations. Germaben II is heat sensitive and should be added to the water phase or to the emulsified portion of the formulation at a temperature of 140°F (60°C) or below, during the cool down stage, generally prior to the addition of fragrance. Adding Germaben II above 140°F (60°C) could result in compromising the preservative system in your product. Germaben II is compatible with most cosmetic ingredients. Recommended use levels: 0.3 - 1%.
